About Me
Hi, I’m Shira, a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist based in California. I work with individuals navigating reproductive experiences such as infertility and pregnancy related stress, as well as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges. These challenges often show up not only in how you feel, but in how you relate to yourself and others, which can make it difficult to feel grounded in your day to day life.
Many of the clients I work with are used to holding a great deal internally or pushing through even when things feel overwhelming. Over time, this can lead to feeling disconnected, reactive, or unsure of how to make meaningful changes. In therapy, we slow that process down and create space to better understand what is happening beneath the surface, so you can begin to respond to yourself with greater clarity and intention.
I focus on helping you build self understanding, strengthen your sense of self worth, and feel more confident in how you communicate your needs and navigate relationships. My goal is to support you in creating changes that feel sustainable and aligned with who you are.
Therapeutic Approach
My approach is integrative, collaborative, and grounded in both insight and practical skill building. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, incorporating strategies that support both awareness and action.
I often focus on helping you notice patterns and understand how they are impacting your relationships and daily life. At the same time, we work on building tools that help you respond differently in those moments. Therapy with me is active and intentional, while still allowing space to slow down when needed.
Outside the Therapy Room
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy exploring San Diego’s beaches, hiking scenic trails, and painting with watercolors. I love reading, baking, and spending time with family and friends. I deeply value connection, humor, and creativity in my everyday life.
Let’s Connect
If you are ready to begin therapy, we will help connect you with care that feels collaborative, supportive, and aligned with your goals.
